"Sex and the City 2" Examines Mr Big’s Relationship With Carrie

The 55-year-old actor – who has played Mr Big in all six series of the TV show and the first movie – admits the marriage with his character and Carrie comes under scrutiny in the second film. He said: "No matter how long you’ve known someone, marriage changes some things in unexpected ways. And it’s a learning process for Carrie and Big." The leading man also reveals he prefers the second movie to the first because it is more comedic. He said: "I’m more excited about this movie than I was about the first one… there’s a lot of humour, which I love."

Chris also jokes he has been left mentally scarred by the scene in the first ‘Sex and the City’ movie where he jilts Carrie at the altar, and ends up being hit over the head multiple times with her bouquet. He told Redbook magazine: "You know how painful it was the day we filmed the scene where Carrie bashed Mr Big over the head with her bouquet? It was awful! I’ve never been able to look at a rose again!

The second film sees the film’s four main characters; Carrie, Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte York-Goldenblatt (Kristen Davis) head off to Abu Dhabi in search of excitement, only for Carrie to bump into her old flame Aidan Shaw (John Corbett). ‘Sex and the City 2′ is released on May 28.
